How it works

Write down your service.
Where you served, what you were exposed to, and what hurts now. Plain questions, one section at a time. You can keep your DD-214 and records here as well, though for now you still type the answers yourself.

We find what nobody told you to claim.
Back pain often brings nerve pain and joint problems with it, and where you served can make some conditions presumed service connected. We look for those in what you have already written, and show you the evidence a rater expects to see.

File it whichever way suits you.
Take your file to an accredited Veterans Service Organization, whose help is free, to an accredited claims agent or attorney, or file it yourself on va.gov. Our browser extension fills the forms in your own va.gov account, one click at a time, and never presses Submit for you.
Your documents, read for you.
Uploading works today, but only for keeping and reading your documents: your DD-214, rating letters and treatment records sit here encrypted, and none of them fill anything in. Next, we want them to answer the questions for you instead of you retyping what the document already says. You would review every proposed value and accept it before anything is written to your file.
This is not switched on yet. Reading a document that way means sending that one document out of your browser, so we are not turning it on until we can tell you exactly what happens to it. Until then, nothing you upload goes to anyone.
Nobody here can read your file.
Not a word of it. That is a property of how it is built, not a promise about how we behave.
- It is locked before it leaves your device. Your answers and your documents are encrypted in your browser with a passphrase only you know. What reaches our servers is unreadable, to us and to the companies that host it.
- You decide what to write. You can leave any question blank, describe an incident in as little detail as you want, and still build a claim.
- Nothing is filed without you. We never submit anything to VA. The browser extension fills the forms in your own va.gov account and never presses Submit.
- You can delete all of it. If any part cannot be removed right away, we tell you so instead of saying it is gone.
- The honest catch. Because only you hold the passphrase, we cannot reset it for you. You get a recovery code at sign-up, and it is worth keeping somewhere safe.
The privacy policy says exactly what we hold, what leaves your browser and when, and what we still have to settle. The changelog lists what we have changed, including what we got wrong.
